Zero Stress King: Idle Defense — All 12 Steam Achievements Guide
Complete unlock guide for every Steam achievement in Zero Stress King: Idle Defense. Find difficulty ratings, step-by-step unlock instructions, and tips for the most challenging end-game milestones.
🏆 About Zero Stress King: Idle Defense Achievements
Zero Stress King: Idle Defense features 12 Steam achievements that span the full progression spectrum — from the nearly-instant first lava kill to the demanding "King of Zero Stress" end-game completion challenge. The achievements serve as milestones that guide players through the game's core mechanics: unlocking defenders, mastering idle setup, completing Prestige cycles, and ultimately conquering every node on the Conquest Map.
Because the game has no failure state, all achievements are pure progression milestones — there are no "avoid dying" or "complete without using X" type challenges. This makes Zero Stress King: Idle Defense one of the more completionist-friendly games for achievement hunters, as every achievement is eventually reachable through consistent idle play. The rarest achievement — "King of Zero Stress" at ~8% unlock rate — simply requires sustained long-term investment across multiple Prestige cycles.
📋 Complete Achievement List
We should make a warning sign there
Get your first kill via the lava river — when an enemy walks into the molten barrier and perishes without being killed by your defenders. This achievement is nearly impossible to avoid and will typically pop within the first 30 seconds of a new run.
Simply start the game and watch the first wave. At least one enemy will reach the lava river and burn. Achievement unlocked automatically.
Hired Help
Unlock your first Archer defender. This requires accumulating enough Food from early lava kills and Laser Monument strikes to afford the initial hire cost.
Earn Food by letting enemies be killed by your Laser Monument or the lava. Once the Archer hire button is available (highlighted orange), click it.
Born Again
Complete your first Prestige reset. Prestige wipes most of your progress but rewards you with a permanent global multiplier that accelerates all future runs dramatically.
Reach the Prestige threshold shown in the Conquest Map screen, then click the Prestige button and confirm. Note: the multiplier only activates after a full game restart.
Full Quiver
Reach the maximum Archer Count cap. This requires significant Food investment across multiple Archer Count upgrades and represents a major mid-game milestone.
Upgrade Archer Count to its maximum level. Focus on efficient Food farming via Laser Monument Range upgrades to speed this up.
Heavy Artillery
Unlock the Cannon unit for the first time. Requires completing specific Conquest Map nodes that unlock the Cannon tier of defenders.
Progress through the Conquest Map until the Cannon unlock node becomes available, then spend the required EXP/Food.
King of Zero Stress
Complete every node on the Conquest Map. This is the ultimate end-game achievement requiring full mastery of all upgrades, units, and Prestige cycles.
Systematically unlock every node in the Conquest Map skill tree, including the final hidden nodes that become available only after 3+ Prestige cycles.
King of Doing Nothing
Leave the game running for 1 hour without any manual input. This tests your setup's true idle efficiency and rewards players who invest in automated defense early.
Set up your defenders, close the active window, and return after 60 minutes. The game tracks idle time internally.
Boss Slayer
Defeat 10 Boss-type enemies. Bosses appear periodically in later waves and have significantly higher HP and a distinctive visual indicator.
Progress far enough into the wave cycle that Bosses begin spawning. Invest in Cannon Boss Penetration upgrades and high Archer Damage before attempting this.
Stress? Never Heard of It
Complete your second Prestige cycle. By now you should have a solid grasp of the optimal upgrade order and can blitz through the early game much faster.
Complete a second full run and Prestige again. Each subsequent Prestige is faster due to stacking permanent multipliers.
Laser Focus
Max out all Laser Monument upgrades. This requires a deep commitment to the early-game foundation and significant EXP investment.
Upgrade Laser Monument Damage Boost, Fire Rate, and Range to their respective maximum levels.
Full Pantry
Accumulate 10,000 total Food across your current run. Reflects sustained high-volume enemy killing with efficient defensive setups.
Focus on multi-Archer setups with maximized Range and Speed to kill more enemies per minute. Runs with Cannon AoE also dramatically accelerate Food gain.
Truly Idle
Reach wave 50 without clicking any upgrade button after the first minute of gameplay. The ultimate test of early setup optimization.
In your first minute: max Laser Damage, hire 2 Archers, upgrade Archer Damage x3. Then put down your mouse and let the idle magic happen.

🎯 Achievement Hunting Strategy
If you want to complete all 12 achievements efficiently in Zero Stress King: Idle Defense, follow this priority order rather than trying to unlock them organically:
- Let your first run play out naturally — the first 4 achievements (lava kill, Hired Help, King of Doing Nothing, Hired Help) will unlock automatically through normal gameplay within your first session.
- Deliberately unlock 2 Archers as fast as possible — this unlocks "Hired Help" and sets you up for "Full Quiver" in the same run.
- Set up a 1-hour idle session in your first run — "King of Doing Nothing" requires 60 minutes of uninterrupted idle. Do this once your Laser and first Archer are set up, before you get distracted with upgrading.
- Route your first Conquest Map path toward Cannon unlock — unlocking Cannons for "Heavy Artillery" and reaching Boss waves for "Boss Slayer" requires deliberate Conquest Map routing. Plan this from early-mid game.
- Prestige once you qualify — "Born Again" and "Stress? Never Heard of It" require 1 and 2 Prestige cycles respectively. Do not delay Prestige just to keep achievement hunting — Prestige actually speeds up access to harder achievements by amplifying your income.
- Save "King of Zero Stress" (full Conquest Map) for last — this is a natural end-game completion milestone that will unlock as a byproduct of maximizing your Prestige multiplier and clearing the full map over multiple cycles.

❓ Achievements FAQ — Zero Stress King: Idle Defense
How many achievements are in Zero Stress King: Idle Defense?
There are 12 Steam achievements in total. They span all difficulty levels from trivially automatic to challenging multi-Prestige end-game milestones. All 12 are listed and explained on this page with unlock instructions.
Can all achievements be unlocked in a single run?
No. Achievements tied to Prestige ("Born Again", "Stress? Never Heard of It") require completing at least 1–2 Prestige cycles, and the end-game "King of Zero Stress" requires completing the full Conquest Map which spans multiple Prestige runs. Plan for at least 3 complete run cycles to unlock all 12.
Do achievements reset when I Prestige?
No. Steam achievements are permanent and do not reset on Prestige. Once unlocked, they remain in your Steam profile indefinitely. Prestige only resets in-game progress like defender levels and Conquest Map nodes.
What is the rarest achievement in Zero Stress King: Idle Defense?
"King of Zero Stress" — complete every node on the Conquest Map — has approximately an 8% unlock rate, making it the rarest achievement. It requires completing hidden nodes only revealed after multiple Prestige cycles and sustained long-term progression investment.
What is the easiest achievement to unlock?
"We should make a warning sign there" has a 100% unlock rate and triggers automatically within the first 30 seconds of any new run. It is literally impossible to miss.
Is "Truly Idle" (reach wave 50 without clicking) still achievable after early upgrades?
Yes, but it requires specific setup: in your first 60 seconds, buy Laser Damage ×3, hire 1 Archer, and upgrade Archer Damage ×3. Then put down your mouse. With this setup, your combined DPS is sufficient to clear enemies automatically through wave 50 without further input. It is easier on post-Prestige runs due to the global multiplier boosting your starting power.
